James Benjamin is one of the owners of Breakglass Studios, where he works as a music producer, Grammy-winning mixer and composer, and serves as the host of Live Analog Dance Rhythms. In 2020 he co-wrote the soundtrack for AAA video game Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey, and created original soundtracks for the Canadian Centre for Architecture and the Salon du Livre de Montréal. His exhibition; Ecological Ambisonic Recording 001 premiered at the Never Apart gallery, and he performed with analog dance duo Boogieman and Samito and four-piece experimental electronic ensemble Porto Porto! at MUTEK Edition 21 and the MUTEK.JP+MX virtual edition, respectively. In March 2020, alongside Ian Cameron and Guillaume Sabourin, he launched TRANSMISSION, a new and immersive portal for the digestion of audio-visual artistic work.
