MUTEKLIVE093 - Bowly presents OJPB
Bowly presents OJPB (CA)
EXPÉRIENCE 2 :: GLITTERING NEU-STALGIA
Friday, May 29 - Outdoor free stage
Bowly’s high NRG brew of syncopated rhythms, uplifting melodies and slow cruising sub bass sit somewhere at the crossroads of house, techno and UK bass. Since launching the Bowly moniker in 2009, French-born, Montréal-based Olivier Borzeix has been steadily on the rise, putting in mucho mileage on the international electronic circuit while pumping out a rhythmically adventurous stream of funky tempo treasures. His exploratory EPs for Nottingham’s Berkane Sol (2010) and Fur Trade Recordings (2013) have allowed listeners to nibble from his broad bassline cookbook, as have his contributions to the ESL and Knife & Fork DJ families. He’s similarly sustained a number of aliases – DDD, MTSP and OJBP – the latter of which, a pitched down, hardware house joyride, Borzeix shared with MUTEK festivalgoers, in anticipation of a soon-to-be-released vinyl on the R&D-inclined Montréal label Parages.
