FRONTE VIOLETA is a duo from São Paulo formed by the multidisciplinary artist Anelena Toku and the musician and sound artist Carla Boregas. Since 2015, we have been developing an experimental investigation in relation to the other senses and languages, permeated by a continuous interest in restoring and awakening sensitivity from a dialogue with the natural world.
Breeding in different media, the duo produces immersive and multisensory works where they combine experimental electronic and electroacoustic music with other practices such as video, performance, installation, site-specific work and sound dramaturgy.
Among his works stand out a site-specific sound installation “What Is Not / O Que Não Está” commissioned by CTM Festival and for the Deutschlandfunk Kultur radio, an audiovisual piece “Lapso”, a sound performance based on a score-ephemeral installation “Notação Floral”, a sound dramaturgy for the show “Revolta Lilith”, “Cri”, a sound piece for synthesizers, griffons and pássaros, a performance for FACT magazine filmed in the central region of São Paulo and a site-specific work for sauna “Castanho” , carried out during artistic residency at Silo - Arte e Latitude Rural. One of its most recent works, “CLARÃO”, is made up of an audiovisual piece and an incense and was commissioned by the Novas Frequências Festival. His latest album “Flama” was released in 2018 by Japanese label Depth of Decay.
