Gary James Joynes is a sound artist, vocalist, composer and visual artist from Edmonton, Canada. As Clinker, his work explores meditative spaces and the kinesthetic and synesthetic effects of sound and visuals. He has been active in the live A/V and live cinema performance community for many years having exhibited and performed his works across Canada and internationally.
At MUTEK_IMG, he will perform his latest live cinema work Peregrination, which was created for the 2013 Alberta Biennial of Contemporary Art. Peregrination reflects on the nature of sound and its visual and material attributes combining compositional sound elements and improvisational use of recorded footage.
