Peter KirnUS/DE
Peter Kirn is a composer, journalist, producer/DJ, and media artist of Lebanese-American
descent born in Louisville, Kentucky, USA. His music has spanned work in AI, spatial audio,
concert music, work for modern dance and fashion, and club music, including releases on
FLASH Recordings, TRAPEZ, Kotä, Dark Carousel, Feral Note, Wunderblock, Instruments of
Discipline, and his own Establishment. Recent live and DJ appearances have included Kantine
am Berghain, Irtijal Festival and Ballroom Blitz in Beirut, Superbooth Berlin, AVA Club, and
Tresor.
He has been active in building open platforms for artistic experimentation, including initiating the
MusicMakers Hacklab performance laboratory and Inputs at CTM Festival, and diverse
collaborations including with SONAR+D, TED, GAMMA, 4DSOUND, and the European Space
Agency. He has worked with MUTEK on labs and hacklabs in Mexico City, Montreal, and Tokyo.
Kirn studied music composition at The City University of New York, where he co-founded the
Graduate Center Contemporary Ensemble; his principal teacher was composer Tania León.
