MUTEK.JP Readies for Edition Number 2
James Holden, Monolake, Nosaj Thing & Daito Manabe, Francesco Tristano and Myriam Bleau Among First Confirmed Names!
With its aim of initiating and consolidating a context and platform for visionary combinations of technology, music and audiovisual practices, MUTEK Japan returns with its second edition from November 3 to 5, headquartered in the futuristic setting of the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation (Miraikan) in Odaiba, Tokyo. Intent on establishing a recurrent electronic music and digital arts festival in a city reputed for its innovative culture, but previously without such a contemporary framework, MUTEK Japan embarks on another multi-day adventure to transform Tokyo into one of the globe's cultural hubs for technological artistry — connecting local and international scenes, fostering deep creative exchange and invigorating new audiences and community.
At the heart of every MUTEK around the world is a program that showcases leading-edge live performances, immersive and theatrical audiovisual works, installations, and activities that demystify and inspire, with a full slate of panels, workshops, artist talks and technology showcases. The festival is excited to share the first names and contours of what promises to be an inspiring followup to last year, with exclusive performances from international luminaries, Japanese veterans and up-and-comers, along with Québec-based artists advanced by MUTEK in Montréal, who represent the DNA of the festival.
