Anni Garza Lau is a media artist whose work explores interactions between humans and machines, with a particular focus on the social, affective, and political dimensions of technology. Her artistic practice is characterized by interdisciplinary collaborations with experts in different fields of science and manifests itself in hybrid artistic expressions combining digital media and physical interfaces. Currently, she investigates the intersections between cybersecurity, surveillance capitalism, and the relationships between information and identity mediated by artificial intelligence.

Since 2007, she has worked as a teacher and researcher at the Academic Development Directorate of the National Center for the Arts (CENART). Her work has been presented at international art and technology festivals, such as FILE (Brazil), ISEA (Canada), Arte Laguna and Toolkit (Italy), ADAF (Greece), Gwangju Media Arts Festival (South Korea), and Transitio_MX (Mexico), among others. In addition, her installations have been exhibited in galleries and museums in the United States, Germany, Spain, Canada, and Bulgaria. She has been part of artistic residencies in Germany, South Korea and Mexico City. Among the supports she has received are Jóvenes Creadores del FONCA (2010-11 and 2014-15), El Sistema Nacional de Creadores de Arte (SACPC) and ACT (Art, Science and Technology, UNAM-FONCA) and PAPIAM (Centro Multimedia CENART).

In 2023, she organized the twentieth edition of the 404 Festival of Art and Technology (Argentina-Mexico) directed by Gina Valenti. She has also been awarded the Julio Torri Prize for Electronic Literature in Mexico. As part of her collective work, she collaborates with Gro Sarauw on Ghost Agency, a transnational project (Denmark-Mexico) focused on critical research on media, technology and women's rights.
