North-West Passage at Insomnia Festival 2019: Jerico, RAMZi, Sabrina Ratté and Tim Hecker

North-West Passage is a new collaboration between Intonal, MUTEK Montréal, and Insomnia that aims to promote innovative artworks in the fields of digital art and electronic music.

Jerico QC/CA

Jerico is a 22-year-old Haitian-Canadian DJ, producer, and vocalist, who’s quickly being recognized as one of Montreal’s most promising young artists. RAMZi makes itself known to our world as a tropical music gradually emerging, bringing to Jazz Fusion a second wind and to Fourth World music a Fifth World sound. Stubborn and protective, RAMZi is also a wild child warrior who enjoys squeezing birds and hanging out with their fluffy animal companions.

Other Quebec artist: Tim Hecker QC/CA

Tim Hecker has spent the last decade inhabiting a unique intersection between noise, dissonance, and melody. In his varied and celebrated works, digital and organic sources tightly intertwine. The result is a hybrid aesthetic that recalls electronic abstraction and psychedelic American minimalism.
