Founded in Montréal (Canada) in 2000, MUTEK is a digital arts and electronic music festival dedicated to the dissemination and development of digital creativity in sound, music, and audiovisual art. Its central platform is an annual five-day event in Montréal that has become a leading event of its kind in North America.

MUTEK also hosts numerous international versions of its festival, connecting the creative communities from different continents. International editions of MUTEK have been implemented in Mexico City (since 2003), Barcelona (since 2010) and Tokyo (since 2016), while Buenos Aires and Dubai will join the network of events this fall (2017).

For Transart, MUTEK curates a night that encapsulates the more festive side of its personality while also celebrating Canadian ingenuity with a lineup of artists who have performed at many of its various editions, both in Montréal and abroad.

Seit 2000 zählt das kanadische Festival MUTEK zu den wichtigsten internationalen Plattformen für digitale Kunst und elektronische Musik. Im Lauf der Jahre sind Ableger in Mexiko-Stadt (2003), Barcelona (2010), Buenos Aires und Dubai (2017) hinzugekommen. Für Transart kuratiert MUTEK in den Produktionshallen von Stahlbau Pichler einen Abend, der die kanadische Kreativszene feiert. Das Line-up umfasst eine Reihe von Künstlern, die sowohl in Montreal, als auch weltweit aufgetreten sind.

Neben dem Line-up in der großen Produktionshalle lädt die Audio- und Videoinstallation Home Appliance von Matthew Schoen zum Verweilen ein, bis der „dancefloor“ wieder ruft…

Fondato a Montréal (Canada) nel 2000, MUTEK è un festival di arte digitale e musica elettronica dedicato allo sviluppo e alla divulgazione della creatività digitale nel suono, musica e arte audiovisiva. L’evento principale, divenuto uno dei più importanti al mondo è quello che ha luogo a Montréal ogni anno per cinque giorni. Negli anni MUTEK ha implementato il proprio progetto con nuove edizioni in tutto il mondo: Città del Messico (dal 2003), Barcellona (dal 2010), Buenos Aires e Dubai (dal 2017). Per Transart, MUTEK cura una serata che racchiude il carattere più festoso del festival e celebra la creatività canadese con una lineup di artisti che si sono esibiti nelle edizioni passate di Montréal e in tutto il mondo.

Oltre alla regolare lineup nella sala principale del capannone, la serata prevede un’installazione live audio e video dell’artista Matthew Schoen.
