MICRO MUTEK.AE Edition 3 is a captivating cultural gathering that explores the intersection of music, visual art, design, and technology. This year's edition promises to be a dynamic and immersive experience, offering regional artists the opportunity to develop their skills and showcase their talents on a global platform.

Digi Lab: The festival’s educational and professional development component

The festival's Digi Lab will feature a series of panel talks and workshops, providing a platform for visionary ideas and fostering connections between the region's creative industries and the global landscape. This collaborative environment aims to inspire and empower artists, designers, and innovators to push the boundaries of their craft.

Workshops: Unlocking Creativity

Two exciting workshops are on offer for regional artists to hone their skills and find a stage at the festival to perform.

The TouchDesigner Workshop led by Markus Hackmann from Derivative, will allow participants to explore different approaches to creating content for full-dome environments. Participants will learn how to set up 3D renders, work with compositing techniques, and develop previsualization strategies for immersive spaces. While the first part will focus on understanding the technical requirements, working in a previsualization system, and preparing a show, the second part will allow participants to put their knowledge to the test.

The Performance Lab, co-hosted by Peter Kirn and sér, is an open environment for collaborative experimentation and the creation of new works. Welcoming a diverse range of skills, from music and audiovisual technology to visual arts and movement, the lab will provide a playground for artists to explore new ways of working together and improvising. The outcome of the lab will be a live performance as part of the MICRO MUTEK.AE Edition 3 program.
