Sara Magnan, also known as Magnanime, is a composer and poet who crafts a distinctive blend of techno-house infused with experimental nuances. Embracing technological glitches and recycling strange sounds into an evolving rhythmic repertoire, her music is authentic and politically charged, drawing from her cosmopolitan experiences. Over the past decade, Magnan has released her 12" EP Don't Wait for Me on Chicago's Siteholder label, remixed Akufen, and contributed to Perlon106: Horror Inc. Remixed. Her recent compositions feature looping distorted voices, staccato rhythms, evocative samples, and sustained synths, pushing the boundaries of house music. In 2019 and 2020, she composed for two YouTheatre productions, known for their innovative and interdisciplinary works. Magnanime's live performances reflect her avant-garde production process and her enthusiasm for audience interaction, creating a unique dance music experience that is both provocative and humanizing.
