Canadian media artist Cadie Desbiens-Desmeules shifts between generative art and live performance through a site-specific practice centered on immersive environments. Drawing on her journalistic background, she casts a critical eye on technological trends with thought-provoking works of art. Desbiens-Desmeules has exhibited her work across the globe, namely at the various world editions of MUTEK, at the International Symposium on Electronic Art and at the TodaysArt festival; her work has notably been selected as part of the 5th International Digital Art Biennial in 2021, alongside the likes of Refik Anadol and Riochi Kurokawa. Currently based in Lisbon, Desbiens-Desmeules continues to work as creative director and visual artist under the pseudonym Push 1 stop, collaborating with top industry talents such as Beyoncé, Jay-Z, BTS, Billie Eilish and Bruno Mars.
Intercity-Express is the audiovisual project of Tokyo-based artist Tetsuji Ohno. Having started his career as a DJ during the mid-90s, he started producing his own tracks at the turn of the millennium, all while working as a composer and producer for the advertising and film industries. He integrated various styles and musical genres throughout his journey, from house and techno to noise and electronica, a synthesis which eventually spawned the unique sound now known as Intercity-Express. Recent appearances include MUTEK Montréal and Mexico, France’s Scopitone festival, Malta’s Sunscape festival, Brasil’s FILE, Spain’s L.E.V. and Russia’s HPL.
