Kyoka & Shohei FujimotoJP
Kyoka is a Japanese artist who works as a musician and composer in Berlin as well as Tokyo. She's known for her chaotic and direct musical approach, a heavy-rough sound, resulting in broken pop-beats with experimental yet danceable rhythms. She released her music on labels such as Onpa))))) and Raster-Noton. Beyond performance, she has increasingly explored installation projects in the past years, which includes a collaboration with Shohei Fujimoto for the Japan Media Arts Distributed Museum.
Shohei Fujimoto is a Tokyo-based media artist that explores from a primitive perspective the perceptual experiences of essential nature. He seeks to precisely capture the data and facts behind a variety of phenomena and shapes. Shohei emphasizes the info, abstracts and then complicates them to create a sensorial experience with new properties, where minimal and organic (wild) attributes overlap.
Their performance is an ongoing collaboration that began with the virtual piece "density compression" on the audiovisual platform FactMag, then the duo performed at Paradise City in South Korea. Kyoka will align fragments of grooves with Shohei's abstraction of shapes expressed through a combination of traditional projection with a powerful laser installation.
