Relatively unknown to the general public, Alex Mc Mahon is nonetheless a powerhouse of Québec’s musical industry. After a foray into sacred music with the Petits Chanteurs de Trois-Rivières, Mc Mahon undertook collegiate studies in piano jazz in Drummondville and Montréal but dropped out to tour the New York circuit. Eventually trading jazz for electro, he partnered with Jean-Philippe Goncalves to form the band Plaster, which notably received a Félix award in 2006.

As a talented keyboardist, Mc Mahon toured internationally with the likes of Daniel Bélanger and Lhasa de Sela, and also participated in a number of house bands for talk shows and galas. As a respected produced, he founded the L gros studio in 2001 with former brother in arms Jean-Phi, where he produces music for film, advertising and video games, but mainly albums for a plethora of high-profile artists including Ariane Moffatt, Radio Radio, Yann Perreau, Patrice Michaud, Jorane and Betty Bonifassi; incidentally, he was named Producer of the year at ADISQ in 2008 for his collaboration with Catherine Major.
