G L O W Z I C O M B O is a mesmerizing trio consisting of the dynamic talents of G L O W Z I, Chudyanna Bazile and Amaëlle Beuze. This ensemble seeks to explore how artistic marronnage, the rejection of oppression, can be used in the realms of sound, abandoning the division of genres and the traditional codes of live performance.
G L O W Z I is a producer and interdisciplinary artist weaving a tapestry of archival sounds and contemporary visuals, creating a universe where Black feminist ethos, archival practices, and imaginative language coalesce. Their work spans various media, imbuing each creation with a sense of history and community connection, highlighted in venues from Boiler Room to MUTEK.
Chudyanna Bazile is a multidisciplinary musician offering a blend of hip-hop, R&B, jazz, and neo-soul, enriched by her Haitian and Nigerian heritage. Her transition from classical trumpet training to the exploration of more varied musical landscapes, notably via jam sessions, has marked her as a versatile artist, and led to the release of her first single.
Amaëlle Beuze, composer and musician, originally from Martinique, combines Afro-Caribbean fusion, R&B and jazz in her music. Born into a family of artists and steeped in the cultural practices of her native island, her skills as a bassist and pianist add depth to her soulful vocal delivery.
G L O W Z I C O M B O questions the Western delineation of musical genres invented by Africans and Afrodescendants, exploring overlooked corners and intersections, celebrating heritage, innovation and the relentless pursuit of artistic expression. This debut performance promises a showcase of profound musical synergy and cultural resonance.
