Petr Barykine, known as Dapapa, is a DJ and producer based in Montréal, where he operates DASA, a studio that merges digital and analog music production. With roots in Russia and Armenia, Dapapa's early immigration to Canada influenced a flourishing musical output. Starting his career in bands at 14 and transitioning to music production at 19, his journey spans various genres, culminating in club-oriented dance music. His work, which includes collaborations with artists and releases on respected labels like Moonshine, showcases a dynamic blend of deep house, UK funky, and more, marked by a distinct use of personal and collaborative tracks during performances.
Shash’U, Montréal’s own DJ and producer, blends his background in street dance with sound engineering expertise, crafting beats that resonate through hip-hop and dance scenes. His unique style, dubbed PWRFNK (Power Funk), merges 80’s funk with urban street beats, making his music distinctively rhythmic and bass-heavy. Known for creating the soundtrack to numerous dance battles, his work has not only filled local scenes but also brought him to international stages. Shash'U continues to push musical boundaries as the Artistic Director of Joy Ride Records, aiming for global recognition.
