With an unsurpassed instinct for recognizing music with soul, Craig Leon was the visionary who convinced major record labels to sign acts like Talking Heads and Ramones. In addition, his sensitivity to keep the rawness in studio recordings, led him to be the main producer or co-producer of the first albums of Suicide, The Fall, Blondie and Ramones, among many other bands.

2024 marks a key year for Craig Leon, as he returns to the stage with the immersive Dolby Atmos audio adaptation of his Anthology of Interplanetary Music, Volumes 1 & 2, albums released in 1981 on John Fahey's label that became cult hits. This is also the prelude to the 2025 release of Vol. 3 of this anthology.

This performance at Casa del Lago as part of PLAY 3 will unite generations fascinated by the most unusual electronic music. Leon will take us on a highly conceptual journey with a display of machine-like and metaphysical sounds inspired by the thicker side of motorik and true to its title: the interplanetary psychedelic soundtrack that imagines the visit of aliens across the African continent.

Who

Legendary producer, composer and arranger. In addition to a copious personal work that takes electronic music to the orchestra, Leon has produced albums and written songs for bands such as the Ramones, Blondie, Suicide and The Fall.
