Festival international de créativité numérique et musiques électroniques

Born in Toulouse, composer Olivier Alary currently resides in Montreal. Alary collected his first experiments in recorded voice and distorted ambience as part of his graduate degree in sound art, which he pursued in tandem with a degree in architecture. In 2000, he released his debut album, Sketch Proposals, on the Rephlex label. Soon after, he collaborated with Björk on her albums Vespertine and Medùlla. 2006 saw the release of Ensemble, his second album for this eponymous project, composed between 2002 and 2005. Ensemble was released on Fatcat Reords and included guest vocals by numerous talents such as Chan Marshall (Cat Power) and Lou Barlow (Sebadoh, Dinosaur Jr). With op-music.net, his design and sound-production agency, Alary creates original soundtracks and sound bases for a diverse roster of projects in fields such as dance, film, contemporary art, and fashion. A new Ensemble record is due out in 2011.
