Jim O'Rourke is a Chicago-born, Tokyo-based musician, composer, producer, engineer, and multi-instrumentalist who has been active since the late 80's. O'Rourke has produced a wide-range of artistic output throughout his career incl. works for Stereolab, Sonic Youth, Wilco, John Fahey and has won a Grammy Award for his productions. His musical style ranges from experimental to avant-garde jazz, noise music, abstract pop and more, which he manifested in his many releases on labels such as Draf City, Tzadik, Editions Mego, Black Truffle and his very own Stream room. He has also been active as a composer for film, most notably his collaborations with directors Koji Wakamatsu and Kazuyoshi Kumakiri.
Eiko Ishibashi is a multi-instrumentalist, singer and electronic music producer that has been active as a live performer, as a music producer for theater, movies and exhibitions. In her productions and live performances she usually incorporates a wide variety of instruments such as the piano, syntehesizers, flutes, marimbas and drums. She released her works on labels such as Felicity, Drag City, Black Truffle, Editions Mego and others.
Experimental and improv legend Jim O’Rourke will yet again join forces with long-time collaborator Eiko Ishibashi to present one of their rare live collaborations.
