Festival internacional de creatividad digital

One of the original roster of Ellen Allien’s Bpitch Control label since it launched at the turn of the century, in the past decade Berlin’s Paul Kalkbrenner has enjoyed a meteoric rise from regional underground player to international crowd-pleaser at some of the world’s major electronic-music gatherings. The secret of his success is a simple but effective one: Kalkbrenner maintains a steady but not overflowing release schedule that never sacrifices quality for the sake of quantity, and he marries each track with a Sasha-like singular knack for blending bang-on anthemic elements into a decidedly forwardly-looking mnml framework. Did we mention he brings with him a live performance that’s been selling out venues all across Europe? Featured in the 2008 film “Berlin Calling”, in which he plays an electronic-music composer named Martin, Kalkbrenner has also developed a taste for acting that has won him accolades at film festivals around the globe.
