Festival internacional de creatividad digital

Without warning, an electronic scene is in the midst of taking form in Seattle. The good news is that it shares a certain resemblance with the one in Montreal, perhaps the why links are starting to spread between the two communities. Coming off a recent release on the Montreal-based label Musique Risquée, here comes artist Steven Ford (Bruno Pronsato). His compositions are little marvels of integration, connecting dissimilar elements, organic and electronic, and diverse influences: he was a drummer for a Texan speed-metal outfit before exploring the possibilities of minimalist compositions under the name Bobby Karate, supported by the discovery of contemporary composers Anton Webern and Arnold Schoenberg. If Pronsato applies his arrangements over a repetitive structure that appears simple at first glance, it's to more adequately explore any rhythmic possibilities-because they oblige peculiar efforts to renew the genre and surprise the audience.
