Festival internacional de creatividad digital

When German Dirk Dresselhaus, better known under the banner of Schneider TM, meets up with Finn Ilpo Väisänen from Pan Sonic-they first encountered each other on tour in 1999-what we get is a musical hybrid surfacing under the soft-spoken pseudonym of Angel. Ironically, these two strong-headed individuals are far from being angels. Much more incarnate than seraphic, demonic more than ethereal, the music they produce together appears to fly in the face of all polite conventions, savoir-vivre and savoir-faire. Their collaboration incorporates stretched and dismembered rhythms, Väisänen's abnormal synthesizer sounds, Dresselhaus' guitar stridulations and a spectrum of sources, noises and other drones from here and there to obtain a mix we could compare to the frenzied output of Thurston Moore (Sonic Youth) or Jim O'Rourke. Unlike any other, Angel is a spontaneous reflex, passionate and open to notions of noise and communication. Their MUTEK concert will be only their second to date outside Berlin.
