MUTEK is pleased to announce the arrival of Hugo Geairon as general co-director of the organization, a new position created by the board of directors to meet creative ambitions with a local and international outreach for the Festival and Forum.

After leading the MUTEK ship for 21 years as evidenced by the many recognitions of recent months (the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec, the Prix Numix, HEC Montréal and the Grand Prix du Conseil des Arts de Montréal), founder Alain Mongeau is grateful to be able to share the management of the organization. In addition to bringing solid event expertise in management and partnership development, Hugo Geairon has proven to be the ideal leader to fill this role and the entire team is delighted to welcome him to MUTEK.

“It is the rich career path that Hugo Geairon has taken, mostly thanks to his four years as director of C2 Montréal, added to his aptitudes in management, that have convinced the MUTEK board of directors that he was the right candidate to take on the position of general co-director of the organization. His leadership and strategic vision will make him an excellent ally, complementary to Alain, and we are enthusiastic about the idea of supporting this new duo in the accomplishment of our common ambitions for MUTEK.” — Raphaëlle Huysmans, chairman of the Board of Directors.

"It gives me great pleasure to welcome Hugo Geairon to our team to play an essential role at the general co-director level and to help us propel MUTEK to new horizons. The choice of Hugo in this key role was imposed at the end of a rigorous process, while we were looking for a unique perspective and skill set that would challenge the already established forces. I wish him a lot of pleasure in his new tasks within the MUTEK adventure. I will, on the other hand, be able to devote myself more to artistic developments.” — Alain Mongeau, founder, artistic director and general co-director.
