International Festival of Digital Creativity and Electronic Music

Modern Deep Left Quartet is the energetic showdown of four of Canada’s best electronic musicians: Mathew Jonson, The Mole, Tyger Dhula, and Danuel Tate.

Sporting a long history of jazz-influenced improvisation, the quartet playing with the added intimacy of longtime friends who are as familiar with each other’s performing styles as they are with each other’s personalities. By now, however, Mathew Jonson and The Mole have both experienced considerable success as solo artists, while Tyger Dhula and Danuel Tate have toured the world as Cobblestone Jazz.

And so when they come together for the finale of MUTEK_10, they will constitute what is perhaps Canada’s only techno supergroup. All four have a lengthy history with MUTEK, and so we are incredibly pleased to be presenting The Modern Deep Left Quartet as the ultimate expression of the festival’s first decade.
