The shared artistic sensibilities of Austrian multimedia artist Tina Frank and Australian composers Oren Ambarchi and Martin Ng are behind the genesis of Reconnaissance. Oren Ambarchi is a guitarist, seasoned musicologist, and well-known improvisationalist whose work on harmonics and resonance has led him to define serene spaces of fluid, shifting sound. His recordings appear principally on the British label TOUCH. Sydney cardiologist Martin Ng is a master turntablist who pumps his sources through conduits of interlacing digital manipulations, updating and modulating them constantly. The trio is completed by Tina Frank, who has a highly-regarded flair for translating musical concepts into powerful images. She is largely responsible for the design of the Vienna-based label MEGO's visual identity, including their album sleeves, video-clips, and DVDs.
