International Festival of Digital Creativity and Electronic Music

[Canadian Debut] Since the release of his long-awaited first album Smash, Jackson has been unanimously acclaimed for his impressive debut. Given his adoption by the mythic UK-based label Warp, it should come as no surprise that his music escapes any simplistic tag. His first opus, discreetly featuring artists like Mr. Oizo, Mike Ladd, and even his mother Paula Moore, remains original and personal through and through. Never putting experimentation before musicianship, the work demonstrates a profound concern for music and authentic aesthetic research. Like a mysterious maestro conducting his computer orchestra, Jackson builds layer upon layer of streamlined and enigmatic 'electro-glam'. His use of sound is almost visual as it transmits an aura of a lush atmosphere, offering a glimpse into a fantastic and brutal world where birds communicate with electronic blips and pianos challenge the voices of ghostly divas.
