Under the name Egyptrixx, Toronto producer David Psutka navigates between high-tech, minimal house and ambient techno that dazzles with its metallic leanings and shatters with its syncopated rhythms. Although austere with a basic and cerebral sound as a whole, his debut album, Bible Eyes, released in 2011 on Night Slugs keeps rhythmic tracks with twisted melody made for the dance floor. A / B til Infinity was released in 2013 on the same label and symbolizes the creative process between David Psutka and Berlin visual artist A.N.F., real name Andreas Fischer. Their composition and sound design processes developed in parallel, the result comprising nine collaborative pieces accompanied by their respective videos, all sharing the same tension-infused texture of a seemingly otherworldly digital nature. The versatile talent of the Toronto artist is evident throughout his catalog (for example, on the track "Old Black" released in 2011, an extract from the indie-rock orchestral group Ohbijou can be found), but he is also illustrated in his DJ set made for the Boiler Room in New York in 2014 or with his psychedelic post-punk project Hiawatha. After performing at MUTEK Mexico during the Red Bull Music Academy sessions with Martyn and Sibian & Faun and at the Spring Attitude festival in Rome, Egyptrixx comes to EM15 to present his organic live with so singular sounds, accompanied by fluid images.
