AUTO-FICTION: Urban activism, contemporary dance, electronic music and automobiles
Urban activism, contemporary dance, electronic music, and automobiles all meet in AUTO-FICTION . The esplanade of Place des Arts, an incongruous location to find a car merely parked as it is, provides the launching point for this performance. We speak of urban activism more than street art in order to drive home the message: to rethink the place of the car in our cities and in our lives. What is our history with the car? Why have we ceded all our rights of passage for other modes of transport?
For the dancers of HUMAN PLAYGROUND and CHRISTINE JOY RITTER (of Berlin), this relation is an AUTO-FICTION, an epic territorial combat that poses profound questions about the modes of mobility and the need to return to forms of mobility at the human level. By its desire for poetic evocation, AUTO-FICTION lobs a call to the imagination and to personal responsibility.
