The MUTEK China Festival will showcase some of Canada’s most creative musicians.” During the Canadian Prime Minister’s recent visit to Beijing (January 2005), Canada and China signed a new Cultural Agreement to further enhance the already significant cooperation between our two countries.” Ambassador Caron commented that “exchanges like these continue to play an essential role in fostering mutual understanding of our respective cultures, societies and values.”

The MUTEK Festival in China is an unprecedented occasion for Canadian talent as well as local artists to share their expertise with recent developments in electronic music. A group of 9 Canadian artists, including Akufen (Mr. Marc Leclair) and Crackhaus (Mr. Scott Monteith & Mr. Stephen Beaupré), and the festival founder and Director, Mr. Alain Mongeau, will meet and work with the students of the Beijing MIDI School of Music and then join their Chinese counterparts to deliver a series of breathtaking performances at Club Tango on Friday, March 4th and Saturday, March 5th before moving to Chengdu and Shenzhen.
